Re: Picture crashes but not Platinum

Hello Ian, Bluescreens even with VGA? That's wierd, and bad. Did another google on gfx card buescreening and here are some suggestions, apart from the usual re drivers, etc - 1. Update Shuttle BIOS as your gfx card is new, and current BIOS may not be able to handle the new gfx card. 2. Disable fast ...

Re: Picture crashes but not Platinum

Hello Ian, Not suggesting you buy another gfx card. Borrow? Perhaps you have a lower end or older model lying around with DVI out such that you can use a DVI-HDMI adapter to continue using the HDMI cable. After all, this is for trouble-shooting to narrow down the culprit. After that is decision time...

Re: Picture crashes but not Platinum

Hello Ian, I loaded a Demo Advance WP4, ran a Digital Juice Loop for more than 1 hour via 2.5m HDMI cable to my LCD TV (set at 1920x1080 though TV is lower res than that so it merely re-scaled it to fit I guess; TV assigned Secondary Mon but also tried it as Primary Mon) ,and my laptop was set at 10...

Re: Picture crashes but not Platinum

Hello Ian, I googled for "HDMI drop-out problems" and got a whole lot of them. Seems like a persistent unsolved problem with hdmi connections and/or equipment. There is one interesting solution from one of the above googles - It's my THEORY that by adding audio to the HDMI signal - it's cl...

Re: Picture crashes but not Platinum

Hello Ian, Reason I asked about which version you have is that the Multi-display has an option in the Display Properties to apply a resolution for the fullscreen monitor/projector that "deviates from the display size". For a single fullscreen show, this effectively means the fullscreen res...

Re: Picture crashes but not Platinum

Ian, I presume you are using a single-channel licence of WP4 in dual-screen mode (1 more Wings + Notes, and other for projector). Q1: Does projector blue-screen if you were to use only single-screen mode, i.e. projector is one same screen as Wings+Notes? I realise you won't be able to see the timeli...

Re: Picture crashes but not Platinum

Hello Ian, Sorry to hear it's not the cable length. If heat, try with the Shuttle cover removed, and a fan blowing at it. (I used to do this with my desktop in the early NLE days with SCSI hard-disks, Win95, etc, and that worked, i.e. eliminated my blue-screens due to heat). Question: Is hdmi the on...

Re: Picture crashes but not Platinum

Or could it be my 10 metre long hdmi cable at fault? I`m beginning to wonder: http://www.projectorcentral.com/dvi_hdmi_copper_optical.htm One way to check that is to use a short HDMI for a prolonged period (1-2hours?) for comparison. Unfortunately, hardware troubleshooting is a process of eliminati...

Re: Jerky panning in projector

Hello Ian, Just want to say, great discovery, and appreciate you posting your findings. I never would have thought matching the monitor's refresh rate with the projector's would have solved the problem. I have read that we need to match the projector or monitor's refresh rate with our video's frame-...

Re: sync problems

Chances are your graphics cards are not quite up to caching/playing the videos you are feeding them. Either reduce the data throughput (lower data-rate/lower resolution videos/combo of those two factors), or get graphics cards with more Graphics Memory/higher processing capabilites (sorry can't be s...
