order of turning equipment on and off

Hi,
I'm a new member, and really appreciate this opportunity to be part of this forum.
I had a couple of basic questions I really wanted to ask help with.
I use one Gotschmann AV6767 slide projector with a cd player and a Stumpfl SD 302CD version 1.07. I program audio -slide shows using WingsPlatinum 2, that I burn on to a cd, and play in repeat mode. These shows play in art galleries and museums where I have to leave the turning off, and turning on , of the equipment every day to gallery assistants.
In order that there are no problems, and the program starts up properly each day at the right position, I wanted to ask at what point in the slide show should the program be turned off at the end of the day? And which order should it go in? Cd player first, then Slide projector off? And then to start in the morning projector on first, and then cd player and play in repeat mode?
I am also aware that the connector that links the SD302 CD to the projector gets extremely hot. Is that normal?
Many, many thanks for any help with these..I look forward to be able to contribute myself soon.
Mark
