Hello,


I put an .exe on a laptop computer. connected to a 1024x768 videoprojector. The first times i run the .exe, no problem, i see all the show with pictures and sound.

3 or 4 times later, after 5 mn running, i heard only the music and didn't see at all the pictures.

Is the exe doing some tmp files ??? I don't understand why that is working well few times and after not.

I precise that it was ok in the morning when we do the tests, and that doesn't work on the evening when we presente it to 100 people !!!

Hi Pascal,

could you please specify how complex the show was and which kind of laptop computer you used? The type of graphics card is especially important. Without this information it is impossible to give more than a general hint: The more demanding your exe file is in relation to the power of your PC, the more likely are problems during playback. It is a good idea not to go to the limits of your hardware if you have an important presentation.

i'll give you the specifications of the laptop next week, because the administrator people will be back on monday. The laptop isn't very fast, i know !

... but why is it working well 2 or 3 times, and after not !

The shows are not very complex, beetween 10and 15 picture tracks, 4 to 6 sound tracks, no video, and not so fast. I can send you :-) 857Mo for 21mn in 1024x768 (it's a 2,35 format, so there is a black band above and under).

Hello Pascal,

thank you very much for the information concerning your laptop! It is very clearly the reason for your problems. The onboard graphics chip doesn't even have any graphics memory. So the graphics chip uses the main system memory. That is very slow compared to dedicated graphics memory.

Furthermore the system memory is only 512 Megabytes. That means the graphics card uses a part (up to 128 MB) of the system memory and only the remaining rest of the system memory can be used by Windows and Wings Platinum.

This is obviously a laptop which is not suitable for such Wings Platinum projects with up to 15 picture tracks, since it is constantly overstrained. This leads to unreliable behaviour.

The online help of Wings Platinum is a good starting point concerning that topic, since it contains a lot of information concerning adequate computer configuration.

ok, so i'm going to made an alternative solution, like i can't replace 7 laptops actually. Perhaps a DVD BluRay or a WMV file. I 'll compare the two solutions.
